We drove into the Grand Canyon in a blinding snow fall.  Needless to say, we were a bit nervous about how the RV would do in the snow.  Fortunately, the trucks were sanding and we had no trouble.  It was beautiful and we were going slow enough to enjoy the scenery.

We checked into the Trailer Camp RV Park which is part of the National Park and then went to get something to eat cause we were too anxious to stop on the way up.  Afterwards, though it was dusk and we were exhausted, but we had to take one peak at the canyon.  I had been there before but I wanted Floss to see what was in store for her the next two days.

We headed back to our RV and the Trailer Camp RV Park to hook up.  We smiled that the younger generation has a very different meaning for "hook up."  We meant getting electricity, water and sewer lines connected, not us.

The next morning we woke up excited to explore but slow in getting going.  Thought we would share the joys of camping before sharing the beauty of the Grand Canyon.

We walked to the Ranger Station to ask about trails, maps, etc.  On the way we had to walk cautiously by these Elk.  The females are about to deliver their calves.  The Ranger said the Elk can get up to 900 lbs.

We found you cannot take a bad picture of the Grand Canyon.  We took a bike ride to the rim, had lunch in the lodge, went on a tour, and hiked trails.  Forgive us for how many we "have to" share.  Believe me, we were trying to be selective.

Nice Tribute to the "Queen" of the Grand Canyon
We also learned how women (unfortunately white women only) known as the "Harvey Girls" were hired to work in the Grand Canyon.  It was a refreshing juxtaposition to the "Girls, Girls, Girls!" we see advertised like any other objects in so many places on billboards, clubs, etc.

So much more to share but the internet connection is driving us crazy.  We have been here for three hours!  The beauty of the Grand Canyon really is an experience we will never forget.  Put it on your bucket list!
